About the Role
CBX Solutions is seeking an Aerial Lineman to join our Outside Plant team. This role involves working with fiber optic and copper cable systems in new and existing applications, requiring a blend of technical skill and physical capability in various environments.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients to plan installations as required
- Install and repair fiber optic and copper cable in a variety of environments
- Climb up to 50 feet
- Operate a bucket truck
- Perform new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, make readies, and ‘figure eighting’
- Record and document testing per customer specifications
- Perform daily duties in a safe manner
- Consistently maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers
- Further industry knowledge on an ongoing basis
- Uphold quality workmanship surpassing industry standards
Requirements
- Ability to read prints and other engineering documentation
- 2 years of relevant experience in the field
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Fiber optic and copper cable industry construction, maintenance, and testing experience
- Reliable transportation
- Maintain an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work night/weekends as needed
- Willingness to work outdoors during extreme heat/cold
- Physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment
- Standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms for more than two-thirds of the time
- Walking, engaging in verbal communication or listening for approximately one-third of the time
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds
