About the Role
Akerman is seeking a Conflicts Analyst or Senior Conflicts Analyst to join the Conflicts Department. This role involves researching and analyzing data for potential new business and employees to identify ethical and business-related conflicts of interest in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Research corporate affiliations using Hoover's/D&B, internet resources, and Secretary of State websites.
- Perform routine conflicts of interest searches by identifying party information and applying Boolean search criteria.
- Analyze search results to determine data inclusion based on General Counsel's Office policies.
- Verify that all conflicts reports are accurate, consistent, and adhere to firm-wide standards.
- Respond to requests from attorneys and staff.
- Maintain data in Intapp by updating client/matter names and adding parties to existing matters.
- Implement and police standards for accuracy, quality, and thoroughness in all analyses.
- Provide availability for urgent, confidential matters including rotating evenings and weekends.
- Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements.
- Maintain and update the conflicts database (Senior Analyst requirement).
- Review the work of junior analysts on a scheduled basis (Senior Analyst requirement).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.

- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
- Availability for a regular late-day schedule ending between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
- Four to five years of experience in risk management, research, library work, or conflicts searching (required for Senior Analyst).
- Strong understanding of conflicts-of-interest and business intake procedures (required for Senior Analyst).
