About the Role

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Fuel and Ash Handler I to monitor and operate auxiliary equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on ash handling, tipping floor, and other assigned auxiliary systems, as well as operating ash handling equipment and loading metals.

Responsibilities

  • Operates mobile equipment including industrial forklifts, manlifts, and skid steer type loaders.
  • Operates and completes all inspections on frontend loader on the Tipping Floor and in Ash House areas.
  • Qualified to operate refuse crane and front-end loader as required in support and employee relief capacity.
  • Applies mechanical knowledge and skills to perform routine tasks such as opening vessels and equipment access doors, placing and removing furnace access equipment, overhead protection and staging, operating power tools, and performing minor repairs to plant equipment and structures.
  • Maintains and follows all Company environmental compliance, health and safety requirements, policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Uses 15,000 psi water blaster systems for cleaning, drain clearing, and other activities as assigned following competency training.
  • Uses mobile water pumps including diesel operated, gasoline powered, pneumatic, and hydraulic.
  • Performs MSW Ash dewatering evolutions and compliant ash handling.
  • Follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards, and reports them to supervision immediately.
  • Works overtime and/or rotating shifts as required.
  • Shovels loose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap trucks, or barrels.
  • Maintains a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, and management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • Mechanical abilities sufficient to perform equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and general preventative maintenance.
