About the Role

PCI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for its PCI Dallas 114 operations based in Midlothian, TX. This role is crucial for ensuring project success through detailed modeling and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Attend kick-off meetings to understand project scope, details, and contract requirements.
  • Create 3D models using Revit.
  • Participate in BIM coordination and design meetings.
  • Develop and model various scopes including walls, framing, ceilings, and specialty items using Revit and add-on programs.
  • Coordinate with point cloud files.
  • Ensure models are spatially coordinated.
  • Escalate issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team.
  • Elevate model and document inconsistencies for resolution.
  • Ensure all model elements are coordinated within PCI’s scope.
  • Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables.
  • Quality control models against project documents for discrepancies.
  • Utilize Navisworks Manage for clash detection and resolution.
  • Attend staff training to enhance software knowledge.
  • Create and maintain project-specific content aligned with standards.
  • Engage with Design and Operations Teams to implement BIM/VDC best practices.
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC service providers and clients.
  • Provide design support tasks, including processing install drawings and producing details.
  • Clean, prepare, and organize CAD/Navisworks files for field use.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue.
  • Portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor.
  • Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.
  • Ability to understand design and document coordination.
  • Innovative and creative mindset focused on process improvement.
  • Ability to take responsibility for project outcomes.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to work in team environments and independently.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate the benefits of BIM/VDC.
  • Passion for BIM/VDC and its impact on productivity.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and handle last-minute requests.
  • Flexibility to visit project sites as required.
  • Experience with construction is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, SketchUp, and iConstruct are a plus.
