About the Role
The Service Technician is responsible for ensuring the entire building remains in safe and good working order through general labor, preventative maintenance, and daily repair tasks.
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders provided by the Service Manager or Leasing staff in a timely manner
- Assess interior and exterior property conditions for maintenance needs
- Perform minor plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repairs
- Repair door, frame, and trim damages
- Paint and patch surfaces throughout the buildings
- Remove snow from sidewalks and parking lots using snow blowers and Bob Cat machinery
- Perform landscaping duties during summer months
- Remove trash throughout the community
- Assist with quarterly or monthly inspections
- Attend staff meetings
- Comply with OHSA regulations and internal health and safety policies
- Use required protective equipment and clothing
- Report hazards, injuries, and defective equipment to supervisors
- Maintain safe work practices and handle materials according to established procedures
- Attend all required health and safety training programs
Requirements
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks including climbing ladders and moving furniture
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively
- Ability to work in confined spaces for up to 30 minutes
- Ability to grip and manipulate hand tools and small parts
- Ability to stand for the majority of the workday
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Must be available to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays
- At least three years of related experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
