About the Role

Responsibilities

• Define and own EDC's vision and multi-year roadmap for intelligent automation and workflow platforms.
• Align platform capabilities with business priorities, transformation initiatives, and EDC's operating model.
• Balance execution, growth, and transformation demands while managing technical debt and platform sustainability.
• Partner with technical service owners, developers, system analysts, and deployment teams to ensure solutions are designed and deployed according to platform standards.
• Enable efficient intake, prioritization, and sequencing of work across multiple teams and domains.
• Ensure robust release management, lifecycle management, and production support models are in place.
• Collaborate with the Business Enablement team and Automation Center of Excellence to assess, scope, and shape Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and workflow automation opportunities.
• Ensure automation use cases are suitable for the correct platform (UiPath, ServiceNow, Power Platform, or hybrid solutions).
• Contribute to maintaining the citizen development operating model, including enablement, controls, and support.
• Ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to support innovation without compromising security or maintainability.
• Promote platform reuse and awareness, along with standard platform patterns, across the organization.
• Establish and implement platform governance, standards, and safeguards.
• Act as the final decision-maker for platform design choices, customization vs. configuration, and the onboarding of new use cases.
• Ensure platform changes comply with EDC's architecture, security, and risk requirements.
• Represent platforms in architecture reviews, governance forums, and executive discussions.
• Ensure developers, teams, and vendors adhere to the defined deployment cycle, including design reviews, security and risk assessments, testing standards, and release approvals.
• Implement lifecycle checkpoints and automation/workflow solutions to ensure quality, resilience, and maintainability.
• Balance enablement and control by ensuring teams can act quickly without bypassing governance.
• Collaborate with other platform owners and platform teams to ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, consistent integration patterns and contracts, and coordinated roadmap planning and dependency management.
• Represent Intelligent Automation platforms in multi-platform planning, design, and governance forums.
• Maintain strategic relationships with platform vendors and implementation partners.
• Evaluate new features, releases, and emerging capabilities for functional relevance.
• Act as the primary platform liaison for key technology and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Automation Center of Excellence and Generative AI Center of Excellence to assess and support AI-powered automation use cases.
• Ensure generative AI capabilities are integrated into automation platforms in a controlled, secure, and value-driven manner.
• Define safeguards and decision criteria for when and how generative AI is applied to automation solutions.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in enterprise automation, workflow, or low-code platforms.
• Proven experience as a Platform Owner, Product Owner, or Technical Product Manager.
• Solid understanding of UiPath, ServiceNow (CSM, App Engine, and Workflow Data Fabric), and Microsoft Power Platform.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, integration patterns and APIs, and security, risk, and compliance in regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic decision-making.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Experience working within or alongside an Automation Center of Excellence or Business Enablement function.
• Proven ability to manage automation deployment across multiple teams and vendors while maintaining deployment velocity.
• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities into enterprise automation platforms within defined risk and governance frameworks.
• Excellent understanding of platform governance models and value-based prioritization.
• Experience establishing and governing citizen development programs.
• Proficiency in both official languages (English and French).
• Must meet government security clearance requirements.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizens or permanent residents).
