About the Role

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their full-time team. This role involves keeping plant machinery and mechanical systems in good working order with limited supervision, performing troubleshooting, and problem-solving for various manufacturing machines.

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines, and make necessary adjustments for efficient operation.
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics.
• Occasionally make replacement parts.
• Clean filters and perform general preventive maintenance on coolant systems and mist collection components.
• Change or add oils and lubricants to production equipment.
• Perform general cleaning and organization of tools and the maintenance area.
• Provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff.

Requirements

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Three years of preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
• Candidates with previous experience with CNC grinding, machining equipment, or HVAC are a plus.
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.+
