About the Role

Responsibilities
- Prepare three-line diagrams, control schematic drawings, bill of materials and control panel layout for all electrical components using relays, vistas, breakers etc. following applicable standards such as CSA, ANSI, UL etc. for complex projects.
- Develop MV breakers complex control schematics, source transfer control schemes for main & alternate source transfers, using hard wired logic using Micro-AT, relays & controllers.
- Prepare approval drawings & final manufacturing drawings on time meet scheduled date.
- Review and understand mechanical drawings to optimize panel layout for electrical components.
- Prepare bill of materials for misc. electrical components and issue engineering change notice in 3Dx as required.
- Review spec summary and identify all the components required for projects and work with mechanical designers and sales for any component issues.
- Provide support to team members on the manufacturing floor by answering design related queries and providing solutions to problems that may arise during production to meet deadlines.
- Prepare logic diagram for relay programming and help QA to test the relays.
- Prepare and issue engineering change notices and train and support new designers as required.
- Perform battery sizing calculation, CT sizing calculation and selecting the wires and cables per Electrical Core required for MES projects.
- Identify new control components such as relays, meters, control switches and MV components (such as breakers and instrument transformers) and add them to the Engineering Data Base.
Requirements
- College diploma or bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a similar field with power engineering courses.
- 5 years of experience designing switchgear or similar electrical design experience.
- Excellent organization skills, team player, able to work in multidiscipline projects independently.
- Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

- 4% of annual base earnings target bonus
