About the Role

The Assistant Site Director supports the daily operations of an afterschool program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for participants. Working alongside the Site Director, this role focuses on logistical management, youth development, and staff collaboration to inspire student growth.

Responsibilities

  • Support the smooth daily operation of the afterschool program at a given site
  • Ensure regular attendance by participants
  • Ensure staff provides a positive learning experience to youth
  • Maintain accurate and current staff, program and participant records
  • Assist with staff hiring as-needed
  • Participate in NYJTL city-wide program events and training sessions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or 60 college credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children from diverse backgrounds
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 1:00pm - 6:00pm during the school year and some school holidays
  • Strong leadership, project management, and data management skills
  • Excellent staff management and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of youth development and education
  • Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curricula
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of DYCD and DOH mandates
