About the Role

QXO is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to lead and manage efforts to promote safe and compliant practices within the Corporate Health & Safety Department. This role focuses on providing safety expertise, risk recognition/reduction skills, and driving a "Zero Accidents or injuries" goal through proactive, preventative, and mitigating techniques in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage efforts to promote safe and compliant practices.
  • Provide safety expertise, risk recognition, and reduction skills.
  • Drive the goal of “Zero Accidents or injuries” through proactive, safe work practices.
  • Utilize prevention and mitigation techniques when assessing potential risks.
  • Maintain current knowledge of safety trends and practices in the industry.
  • Identify and implement company best practices to create standards for continuous safety improvement.
  • Manage safety region to eliminate occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs related to occupational injuries in construction/manufacturing.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors for occupational illnesses/accidents and prepare reports.
  • Act with a sense of fiduciary responsibility.
  • Prepare incident reports for regions and work with operations on dissemination, review, and recommended actions.
  • Compile and submit reports required by company management and regulatory agencies (OSHA), including Ad Hoc reporting.
  • Perform comprehensive EHS facility and field audits.
  • Create corrective action plans based on audit findings and partner with operations for deliverables.
  • Facilitate timely completion and closure of corrective action plans.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on corporate and governmental regulatory issues within the assigned region.
  • Conduct and facilitate field and facility safety meetings and training.
  • Train and develop regional resources on overall Construction Safety.
  • Investigate injuries and incidents and develop root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Document all Injury and Incident Scenarios and Causes in the company EHS information system.
  • Communicate Injury and Incident Scenarios, along with Root and Contributing Causes, to the organization for proactive avoidance.
  • Manage OSHA citations and investigations within the assigned region.
  • Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources.
  • Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and safety administration in a transportation, construction, distribution, general industry or warehousing environment.
  • Proficient in OSHA & EPA Regulations, State and Federal laws.
  • Proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel +/- 50%.

Salary/Compensations

  • $90,000.00 - $135,000.00
