About the Role
The Property Attendant helps maintain a comfortable, safe, and quiet atmosphere for guests. They serve as the property’s after-hours emergency contact and assist guests as needed. This role is not a security guard position.
Responsibilities
- Keep watch on the property when the office is closed.
- Report any safety or security issues to the General Manager, or local authorities/emergency service providers if warranted.
- Respond to guest needs, complaints, and concerns professionally and courteously after office hours.
- Establish good communication and professional relationships with property guests.
- Ensure all storage and employee areas are secured nightly.
- Obtain guest list nightly to ensure only authorized guests access rooms and the property.
- Note any issues on Daily Action Plan for General Manager investigation.
- Obtain a Vacant Room Report to ensure all vacant rooms are secured nightly.
- Call General Manager or Regional Operations Manager immediately regarding any safety/security issues or urgent questions/concerns.
- Follow company procedures by verifying ID and providing access to rooms for guests who become locked out.
- Assist guests with minor maintenance issues.
- Document all rounds and incidents on the Property Attendant Checklist.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Ensure the property is always clean and free of trash and debris.
- Follow on-call schedule.
- Complete 3 thorough inspections of the property during each night scheduled (typically around 7:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and after midnight).
- Complete 5 evenly spaced rounds between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM and one round after midnight for properties closed on Sunday.
- Complete a minimum of 3 rounds after closing for properties open on Sunday.
Requirements
- Must live on property during the term of employment.
- Must follow all guidelines outlined in the “Terms of Guest Agreement”.
- Prohibited from possessing a firearm, or dangerous or deadly weaponry while on InTown property.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret information found in a variety of internal hotel information.
- Ability to read, speak, and write efficiently to interact with guests and staff.
- Ability to self-supervise and work with limited supervision.
- Work on uneven surfaces in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
- Climb and stand on ladders at heights of up to approximately 30 feet.
- Visually inspect vacant rooms.
- Frequent walking at a quick pace, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and/or crawling for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Stand and walk in crowded areas and in confined spaces.
- Lifting and carrying over 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to reach with arms outstretched or overhead.
