About the Role

The Gift Shop Senior Attendant will provide a positive guest experience by executing flawless service to all guests of the gift shop. This position serves as the lead team member on shift, supporting the Captain (Manager) with daily operations and acting as the manager-on-duty in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, offer assistance, and respond to merchandise inquiries.
  • Display merchandise attractively.
  • Restock items, check expiration dates, and discard expired products.
  • Maintain a neat and clean storeroom.
  • Process customer purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Verify customer identification as required.
  • Manage cash drawer levels, turn in monies and receipts, and verify deposits.
  • Follow opening and closing checklists.
  • Secure the shop and monitor for theft and damage.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions.
  • Adhere to company policies, maintain professional appearance, protect company assets, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Anticipate and address guest needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests.
  • Use clear and professional language in communication and answer telephones with proper etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, moving, lifting, carrying objects up to 10 pounds, and standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • Oversee daily floor operations to ensure smooth functioning and consistent service standards.
  • Assist with daily management of the gift shop team, including task assignment, direction, support, and addressing employee questions.
  • Support the creation and adjustment of staff schedules for adequate coverage.
  • Serve as the acting point of contact during the Captain (Manager)'s absence.
  • Help train and onboard new team members, modeling best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Key-holder or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organization, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • An aptitude for self-motivation.
  • A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, support a small team, and make sound operational decisions independently.
  • Flexible schedule availability for days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
