About the Role

The Emily Fisher Landau Fellow will work directly with the Family Programs team in the Learning and Engagement Department at The Museum of Modern Art. This role provides hands-on experience in coordinating family programs, outreach, interpretive resources, and children's spaces. The Fellow will be trained to teach Family Gallery Talks, design and deliver programs, and develop engaging resources for families.

Responsibilities

Assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of family programs, including gallery-based and art-making experiences, films, story times, and community partnerships.
Supports the launch and ongoing operation of Art Lab, the Museum’s family-focused interactive space.
Liaises with various departments to support family and community engagement initiatives.
Coordinates outreach efforts with external organizations and institutions.
Supports marketing and outreach communications, including content research, drafting copy, and managing campaigns.
Helps manage public inquiries and coordinates communication for staff.
Develops surveys and evaluation tools to collect and report on program and visitor data.
Collaborates on the development of Museum-wide family engagement resources.
Participates in training to develop art museum teaching practices and potentially facilitate Family Gallery Talks.
Conducts archiving and records management for family programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in art history, art or museum education, fine arts, or education.
Basic knowledge of modern and contemporary art/artists.
Experience in program support for public events, learning initiatives, or educational environments, preferably focused on children and families.
Exceptional communication, organizational, collaborative, and writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
