About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our thriving Sydney office to develop and review detailed electrical design. As part of a large multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will work under the general direction of the electrical discipline lead and will be responsible for the development, review of designs and provide support to construction teams. You will work with our contract partners in producing quality output for small to medium projects. This role lends to a progressive career path in the broader working environment being appreciated in larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering design which including development of engineering drawings, calculations, reports, design criteria, to support electrical engineering projects.
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittents, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other contract administration tasks.
  • Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
  • Participate in value engineering, safety in design workshops and basic cost estimating to support engineering projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years well-rounded experience in the Water and Waste Water industry.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
