About the Role

Working at the intersection of data, design, and engineering, we set direction, prioritize what matters most, and deliver outcomes that move the business forward. We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to lead the design strategy for critical product areas, influencing the long-term vision of our platform and driving architectural improvements across the Deliveroo ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product design strategy for high-level, ambiguous business challenges, ensuring alignment between user needs and long-term commercial goals.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to drive architectural decisions and platform-wide design standards.
  • Champion a culture of design excellence by mentoring senior designers and fostering high-quality craft across the organisation.
  • Identify and tackle systemic design opportunities that improve performance, accessibility, and user satisfaction at scale.
  • Act as a bridge between functions, using influence to align cross-functional teams around a unified product vision.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading complex design initiatives from conception to launch within large-scale, high-growth environments.
  • Proven ability to define and drive design strategy, successfully managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated track record of mentoring designers and elevating the quality of work within high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design visions and influence senior leadership.
  • Deep technical fluency and a strategic understanding of how design influences engineering constraints and product outcomes.
