About the Role
Alstom is seeking a full-time, onsite Material Planner in Hornell, NY, US to manage supplier deliveries, ensuring quality and timing to support the production line. This role involves coordinating with various business teams and managing production planning within the ERP system.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring material demand is accurately reflected in the ERP based on various planning needs
- Calculating Material Net Requirements and forecasts in ERP (or alternative) based on the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) process
- Collaborating closely with suppliers on diverse projects to enhance supply chain efficiency
- Strategically deploying planning and inventory strategies considering parts typology and demand inputs
- Creating and maintaining accurate material master data within the ERP system
- Leveraging problem-solving skills to offer out-of-the-box solutions and resolutions
- Utilizing excellent communication skills to interact effectively with domestic and international suppliers
Requirements
- Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience or understanding of supply chain planning and logistics
- Knowledge of ERP systems and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a plus
- Familiarity with production planning and inventory management strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to offer innovative solutions and ideas
- Certification in Supply Chain or Inventory Management is a plus, but not required
