About the Role
The Classroom Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates the learning process of students while upholding the mission and philosophy of Catholic education. This role reports to the principal and assists in the ministry of the school.
Responsibilities
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the school mission
- Model Gospel values and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Adhere to school policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct
- Plan instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on curriculum
- Provide appropriate learning materials and resources
- Utilize effective instructional methods and professional standard practices
- Perform formative and summative assessments
- Maintain accurate records
- Practice positive and consistent classroom discipline
- Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns
- Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school community
- Teach an enrichment class
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the subject taught or a related field from an accredited university
- Meet minimum teaching requirements set by the Diocese and TCCED
- Maintain compliance with Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
- Meet staff development guidelines
- Complete Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of hire
