About the Role

Semrush Technical Services partners with enterprise customers to accelerate API adoption and drive measurable value from the Semrush platform. This role is accountable for getting customers to production fast and ensuring they actively consume what they've purchased, acting as a proactive technical partner.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical workstream for API customers from contract close through go-live.
  • Lead architecture reviews and guide customer engineering teams through integration design.
  • Ensure setup is done correctly, aligned to customer goals and Semrush best practices.
  • Monitor API usage against purchased volume and identify consumption gaps.
  • Build plans to close consumption gaps and drive full value from purchased services.
  • Surface under-utilized capabilities and new use cases to customers.
  • Engage with customer CTOs, engineering leads, and product teams at a strategic level.
  • Shape how customers build by proactively offering solutions.
  • Run technical workshops, architecture walkthroughs, and developer enablement sessions.
  • Identify and resolve technical, organizational, and resource blockers.
  • Define implementation milestones and hold customers accountable to timelines.
  • Escalate issues with context and recommended solutions when needed.
  • Align technical expansion plays with broader success planning and renewal motions.
  • Build repeatable assets, implementation playbooks, reference architectures, and onboarding templates.
  • Surface integration blockers and adoption friction to Product and Engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Implementation Engineering, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience working directly with engineering and development teams as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Strong working knowledge of REST APIs, authentication patterns (OAuth, API keys, JWT), webhooks, and integration architecture.
  • Comfortable reading and discussing code (JavaScript, Python, or similar) and engaging at technical depth with developers.
  • Track record of owning measurable outcomes (time-to-live, API adoption rates, consumption metrics, NRR contributions).
  • Equally strong in technical architecture reviews and executive business reviews.
  • Commercially aware, understanding the connection between work, retention, expansion, and Services revenue.
  • Operates with urgency and ownership, identifying and addressing problems proactively.
