About the Role
Van Bortel Automotive Group is seeking skilled Technicians to join their team. Technicians are paid on a flat-rate scale and enjoy a great work schedule of 3 days on and 4 days off.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide an estimate of repair time.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ASE Certification required.
- B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
- Dexterity, requiring steady hands and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic computer competencies.
- Positive, friendly attitude with an eagerness to improve.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
