About the Role
Smartly is seeking a Creative Director to lead the Brand & Content team, shaping the brand's presence across various channels. This role involves creative leadership, people management, and conceptual thinking to produce distinctive and effective work aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate will lead a design team, develop creative concepts, and collaborate across departments to bring the Smartly story to life.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of designers, fostering an environment for high performance and career growth.
- Develop creative concepts and campaigns that enhance Smartly's brand and resonate with target audiences.
- Provide clear creative direction and feedback throughout the entire creative process.
- Collaborate with Brand, Content, Product Marketing, Communications, and other stakeholders to translate business objectives into creative solutions.
- Elevate the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of Smartly's visual identity across all channels.
- Review and approve creative work to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, brand standards, and quality expectations.
- Help establish and refine creative processes, workflows, and best practices to scale team impact.
- Stay updated on design, advertising, and cultural trends to bring fresh perspectives to the team's work.
Requirements
- Experience leading and developing creative teams, including direct people management.
- Strong background in graphic design, brand design, visual communication, or a related creative discipline.
- Experience as a conceptual Art Director with a portfolio showcasing strong campaign thinking and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to translate strategy, messaging, and business goals into engaging creative concepts and visual storytelling.
- Strong design craft with a deep understanding of typography, layout, visual systems, and brand identity.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and managing feedback from diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance creative excellence with practical business outcomes.
- Experience working with consumer-facing brands or B2C marketing is preferred.
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or high-growth environments is a plus.
