About the Role

Maintain shift accountability for clinical and personnel activities and provide support to the Director I. Participate in the delivery of high quality, family-centered, and developmentally appropriate patient care at the unit level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency by ensuring that the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient are met within a family-centered care environment.
• Monitor and facilitate patient throughput to ensure the delivery of safe quality and efficient care.
• Coordinate and collaborate with patient care needs with appropriate members of the healthcare team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and management of care across the continuum.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with the health care team and work to eliminate communication barriers.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing staff, and ancillary departments.
• Observe, identify, and address human resources issues for assigned staff.
• Coach, counsel, and develop nursing staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
• Monitor productivity and assure that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
• Support the implementation of unit goals and communication of the organization’s strategic plan to staff.
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives for the purpose of developing and monitoring clinical outcomes that demonstrate nursing excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN) required
• RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact required
• BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association required
• Certification in specialty-specific area or nursing leadership, with completion of certification within 1 year of assuming the role preferred
• 2 years Nursing experience required (ICU)
• Radiology, Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab nursing experience preferred
• Successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
