About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to build, shape and continuously enhance a modern, inclusive and responsive wellbeing service that supports a diverse student population. As Wellbeing Manager, you will combine strategic leadership with hands-on operational delivery, ensuring students can access timely, high-quality support that enables them to thrive academically, personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and enhancing student wellbeing services across the institution.
  • Managing complex student welfare and wellbeing cases.
  • Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and supporting institutional safeguarding and Prevent responsibilities.
  • Managing counselling and specialist wellbeing support provision.
  • Using student feedback, data and sector best practice to drive continuous improvement.
  • Developing and supporting a team focused on delivering an outstanding student experience.
  • Producing insight and reporting to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Student-centred professional with significant experience leading wellbeing, safeguarding or student support services within Higher Education.
  • Strong understanding of student welfare, mental health and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.
  • Experience supporting students with complex wellbeing and welfare needs.
  • Experience managing safeguarding concerns and risk assessment processes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.
  • Commitment to inclusion, student success and continuous improvement.

Salary/Compensations

  • £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
