About the Role
Change Grow Live is a charity dedicated to making a difference in the lives of service users by offering support and respect in a safe environment. The Foreign Nationals Outreach Worker will assess and engage with service users, ensuring they access the right intervention at the right time. This role supports individuals with substance misuse, who are experiencing rough sleeping, or at risk of homelessness, with a specialization in engaging EU Nationals.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Outreach and Community Team Leader within the outreach in Barnet.
- Hold a caseload of EU Foreign Nationals experiencing rough sleeping and substance misuse issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partner agencies (Housing, domestic abuse services, Dual Diagnosis Mental Health) to support service users with complex needs.
- Engage with Foreign Nationals who are rough sleeping and sex working through street-based outreach sessions.
- Act as the main coordinator for a small caseload of service users, providing comprehensive assessments and Drug and Alcohol support.
- Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral.
- Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
- Provide advocacy for access to partnership services.
- Complete planned outreach projects with partner agencies, including street counts and satellite delivery for vulnerable groups.
- Support social (re)integration, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
- Work with the Police, the Home Office, and anti-trafficking agencies when necessary to address issues relating to exploitation and trafficking.
Requirements
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field.
- Be able to communicate effectively with service users from at least two EU member states (Czech, Slovakian, Lithuanian, Polish, Latvian, Hungarian, Romanian).
- Be proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills.
- Knowledge of services available in various countries of origin.
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards.
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden professional knowledge and skills, and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others.
- Experience of working with people who have been trafficked or victims of modern-day slavery.
- Must already have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

- CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41)
- Outer London Weighting (£2,250.61)
