About the Role

Cambridge Security Seals seeks a Set-Up Technician with a proven track record in injection molding machine set-up and operation, including fully automated production processes. This role supports growing manufacturing needs within a rapidly growing company known for best-in-class products and a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Set-up of injection molding machines, material handling, automated assembly, and production lines.
  • Perform set-ups including ultrasonic and spin welding, laser and hot stamp marking, and automated inspection and packaging processes.
  • Utilize strong hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting skills based on scientific molding techniques.
  • Maintain control of the entire injection molding process, verifying correct setup of molds, processes, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Start up machines, establish proper conditions, perform process monitoring, and ensure part conformity and quality.
  • Identify, react to, and resolve quality issues, adjusting the process and monitoring scrap reduction.
  • Recommend repairs or required maintenance beyond immediate skillset.
  • Ensure product consistency with quality standards and adherence to the Quality Management System.
  • Perform mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule.
  • Teach and train line operators.
  • Review work orders for correct issuing of raw materials, packaging, BOM, etc.
  • Apply basic understanding of electricity and electronics as they apply to the molding floor and automation.
  • Perform fast and efficient mold changes.
  • Perform minor mold and machine maintenance, including parting line tooling insert changes.
  • Manage hot runner and robot system experience, care, and operation.
  • Provide guidance to Line Operators and back up the shift Supervisor.
  • Complete production documentation, including accurate part count and scrap reporting.

Requirements

  • High school education, Diploma.
  • 3-5+ years of related work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding machine set-up, process troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of scientific molding advanced concepts, plastic injection molding processes, laser marking, and other automated finishing and assembly techniques.
  • Performance-driven, team-oriented, and client-focused attitude.
  • Good written/verbal communication skills.
  • Impressive work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude or background with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be able to work standing for an entire shift with frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Must be reliable and on time.
  • Must pass mandatory drug screening.
  • Must presently live in or have a reasonable daily commute to the Rockland County area.
  • Must pass initial and random drug testing.
