About the Role
We are seeking two highly motivated university graduates to begin a career in claims within the marine insurance sector. As a mutual P&I Club, we insure shipowners and charterers worldwide. You will handle a wide range of claims, provide legal and strategic support, and participate in complex litigation and arbitration. Service is central to our operations, and you will play an integral role in fostering relationships between the Club and our Members. The role involves rotating through London-based claims teams, Underwriting, Loss Prevention, Reinsurance, and Finance departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of P&I insurance. As part of your training, you will complete P&IQ Modules 1 and 2, with ongoing learning and development opportunities throughout the 18-month programme.
Responsibilities
- Handling a wide range of claims for Members.
- Providing legal and strategic support.
- Participating in and directing complex litigation and arbitration.
- Promoting and sustaining relationships between the Club and its Members.
- Rotating through claims teams, Underwriting, Loss Prevention, Reinsurance, and Finance departments.
- Completing P&IQ Modules 1 and 2.
- Engaging in learning and development opportunities.
Requirements
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Genuine interest in developing a career in insurance and shipping.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a discipline demonstrating the ability to communicate complex ideas concisely (e.g., law, history, English, Classics, modern languages).
