About the Role
Support the Buyer in sourcing and developing a well-balanced product range, meeting planning deadlines through effective supply chain coordination and strategic supplier management.
Responsibilities
- Source and develop product.
- Contribute to department development, ensuring systems are maintained and updated.
- Collate market data to identify trends and assess competition.
- Assist in sourcing and developing product for overseas markets.
- Develop and control the department’s critical path for buying activity.
- Assist Buyer in preparation and presentation of range reviews and selection meetings.
- Manage the compilation and update of in-house order database and visual catalogues.
- Manage the sample process in line with critical dates.
- Liaise with suppliers to meet their deadlines and critical dates.
- Understand business performance and make recommendations.
- Oversee the shipping process for efficient deliveries.
- Control and manage forecasted intake of stock.
- Ensure appropriate shipping methods are applied.
- Supervise Buyer’s Assistant to ensure timely generation of specs and orders.
- Work with suppliers to minimize delays and monitor performance.
- Build professional business relationships with suppliers.
- Collate weekly sales packs.
- Prepare end-of-season sales analysis.
- Support effective communication internally and externally.
- Participate in and lead team meetings.
- Respond to product queries from other head office departments.
- Liaise with the UK merchandising team.
- Work with franchise partners to maintain communication.
- Support the Buyer in building an effective team environment.
- Supervise Buyer’s Assistant workload.
- Deputise for the Buyer as required.
- Support induction and training of new team members.
- Participate in training and development.

- Currently at Assistant Buyer level.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Budget control.
