About the Role

Merchants Insurance Group is seeking a strategic professional to manage the performance, strategy, and growth of commercial package and middle market insurance product lines. This role involves collaborating across departments to enhance profitability, improve loss outcomes, and strengthen market position through data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as business owner for assigned product lines, accountable for profitability, growth, and retention.
• Drive production goals by monitoring performance and partnering with regional teams.
• Conduct competitive, market, and industry analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Lead state rate and form filings in partnership with the Actuarial Team.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
• Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from strategy through implementation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with technology and operational teams to improve product capabilities and customer experience.
• Identify and develop new product opportunities, coverage enhancements, and endorsements.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making in a matrixed environment.
• Support field teams through product education and performance insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of insurance product management, underwriting, or actuarial experience.
• Experience working across functions and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
