About the Role
As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you'll contribute to a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere by ensuring a quick and easy customer experience and maintaining store cleanliness. Flexibility is key, as you may support various store areas. Roles are available in Sales, Customer Service, Stock, and Fulfillment departments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the salesfloor stays 'runway ready' through re-merchandising and straightening.
- Assist customers with various transactions across different platforms, operating a point-of-sale system.
- Handle bagging of items of all sizes, including bulky and heavy boxes.
- Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting customers and sorting/returning clothing.
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor.
- Organize stockrooms and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver new merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards.
- Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing, and shipping standards.
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments.
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general support to the store, including setting up special events, organizing backrooms, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
Requirements
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting them above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
