About the Role

Change Grow Live is seeking a Recovery Coordinator to join their Havering team. This role involves assessing and engaging with service users to ensure they receive timely and appropriate interventions for drug and/or alcohol issues, supporting them throughout their treatment and recovery journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unwavering support to service users from their initial contact through their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Implement tailored interventions to reduce harm from substance use via group sessions or one-on-one engagement.
  • Ensure service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-focused detoxification plan, including preparation and post-care support.
  • Collaborate with other organizations and the community to enhance recovery resources by referring service users to mutual aid groups and networks.
  • Advocate for the involvement of family members, service users, and the community.
  • Serve as a voice for service users in accessing partnership services.
  • Work closely with service users to facilitate their social (re)integration, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

Requirements

  • Possess knowledge and experience in delivering interventions for service users affected by substance use.
  • Excel in both verbal and written communication, with proficient IT skills.
  • Demonstrate proactive qualities, working independently with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Hold a strong understanding of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Thrive as a supportive team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with a diverse range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Exhibit the ability to navigate change effectively, always prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Recognize the significance of information governance processes and commit to adhering to all necessary safeguards.
  • Pursue continuous learning opportunities to enhance professional knowledge and skills, while also contributing to the growth and development of colleagues.
  • Create a non-judgmental, inclusive space where participants feel safe to share their experiences with addiction.
  • Have an understanding of harm reduction and recovery models and be able to work with the new CGL Atlas Pprogramme.
  • Capacity to assess Safeguarding risks, manage challenging or aggressive behavior, and follow safeguarding legislation for vulnerable adults or children.
  • Ability to manage and evaluate structured psycho-educational groups, including guiding group cohesion, managing challenging behaviors, and keeping sessions focused on the recovery agenda.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
  • This role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Salary/Compensations

  • CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41)
  • Inner London Weighting (£4,236.47)
