About the Role

An experienced Know Your Customer (KYC)/Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) subject matter expert is needed in the Global Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) function to manage and oversee KYC/EDD processes and controls globally.

Responsibilities

  • Manage KYC/EDD activities in the second line of defense, including policy/standards, advisory, oversight, assurance, and risk issue resolution.
  • Support a multi-year KYC transformation program by partnering with the first line of defense to enhance systems and controls.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for a team of EDD professionals onboarding and reviewing high-risk and complex customer relationships.
  • Provide AML/KYC advice, guidance, and effective challenge.
  • Collaborate with the first line of defense to centralize and improve efficiency in KYC/EDD processes and controls.
  • Ensure business functions globally adhere to controls.
  • Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and assurance testing reviews.
  • Proactively identify risks, implement corrective actions, and manage risk issues/escalations.
  • Enhance reporting on KYC/CDD/EDD and provide updates to governance bodies.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in financial services compliance or risk management.
  • Several years of anti-money-laundering experience, including KYC/CDD/EDD.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management processes and controls.
  • Prior experience supporting KYC transformation in a global financial institution.
  • Knowledge of business(es), products, and services.
  • Strong technical competence and subject matter expertise in KYC/CDD/EDD.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable FCC-related laws and regulations and ability to apply this to the company’s business.
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and manage FCC-related risks.
  • Ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
