About the Role
The Customer Entities team is central to the Kraken Customer system, providing the foundation for customer experience by managing core system components like accounts, customer identity, and address information. This role involves enhancing the addresses product with features such as address verification.
Responsibilities
- Enhancing the addresses product with features such as verifying address information.
- Solving difficult design challenges in a complicated, outdated, and process-heavy UK utilities market.
- Addressing challenging technical problems, such as processing millions of meter readings daily.
- Ensuring smooth data processing and feeding data into a machine learning pipeline for consumption modeling and prediction.
- Adapting Kraken to improve other utilities like water and broadband.
- Working for a company actively fighting climate change through renewable energy investments and promoting greener technology.
Requirements
- General interest in technology and problem-solving.
- Diligence and thoughtfulness.
- Experience/expertise in Python.
- Experience/expertise in Django (or equivalent web framework).
- Experience/expertise in domain modeling.
- Experience/expertise in HTTP and REST APIs.
- Experience/expertise in writing robust and fault-tolerant software.
- Experience/expertise in Celery and async processing.
- Experience/expertise in Postgres.
- Experience with AWS is a bonus.
- Experience with Terraform, Packer, Consul is a bonus.
