About the Role
As a Data Scientist, you will sit right at the point where our models meet clinical practice. You will focus on connecting our models and the underlying data to the people who use them: working with clinicians to understand their workflows and needs, developing and training models, shaping how predictions are presented in the product, and demonstrating clinical impact through retrospective and impact analyses. We're looking for someone with a genuine product mindset, who builds trust with medical experts, takes ownership, and is motivated to keep learning and make our products more usable, interpretable, and valuable in the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Train machine learning models and shape how their outputs are presented in the product in collaboration with frontend, UX, product, and users.
- Design and execute impact and retrospective analyses that demonstrate and improve the clinical value of our products.
- Work in a structured way with internal and external medical experts, translating clinical needs into product and modeling decisions, and model behavior into clinical language.
- Be the go-to person for the interpretation of clinical data, and help prioritize data science efforts from a clinical point of view.
- Contribute to the data science aspects of product discovery, by carrying out your own experiments or supervising interns.
- Contribute to tailoring and validating our pipelines and models in new hospital environments.
- Use AI tooling wisely and responsibly to assist you in your work.
- Participate in validation and verification activities, according to the latest medical and information security regulations.
- Be present in the office a couple of days per week.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a clinical environment or with clinical data.
- Solid data science and machine learning fundamentals in Python (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
- Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders, a genuine product mindset, and curiosity about clinical users and products.
- Professional working proficiency in Dutch, and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Eligible to work in the Netherlands (EU).
