About the Role

As a Designer within the Marketing and PR team, you will create bespoke assets for AKQA's channels, ensuring consistent and distinctive brand expression across external and internal communications. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, an impeccable design aesthetic, understands visual storytelling, and possesses exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide motion and graphic design for visual communication, including social assets, presentations, and thought leadership materials.
  • Explore and propose new ways to express AKQA's brand, balancing originality with existing guidelines.
  • Manage, collate, and archive assets.
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work on time and support the wider team.
  • Generate ideas with senior Creative and Marketing members to communicate innovative concepts.
  • Contribute actively to briefs, listen, respond, and clearly communicate ideas.
  • Work independently with minimal day-to-day creative direction.

Requirements

  • Proficient in the formal elements of design: typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity.
  • Proficient and confident in Figma, including understanding website design and design systems.
  • Proficient and confident in Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Understanding of post-production for photography using Lightroom.
  • Basic understanding of animation/editing in After Effects and/or Premiere Pro.
  • Intelligently organize files for design iteration and web production.
  • Create original designs aligning with project goals, creative direction, fluid templates, and standards.
  • Bring fresh thinking to brand expression across formats.
  • Consult with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within limitations.
  • Prepare files with necessary information to support design intent.
  • Be accountable for the quality of all design deliverables.
  • Review final work with high attention to detail to ensure AKQA standards are met.
  • Prepare for creative reviews by outputting optimized files and presentation materials.
  • Ability to balance stakeholder expectations with project realities.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility for work and teamwork.
  • Diligent, flexible, resourceful, and independent with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and enthusiasm for learning.
