About the Role
As a Business Analyst at Shift, you'll work closely with product, operations, and technology teams to create and implement scalable solutions that help achieve strategic goals. You'll define business requirements, streamline processes, and build adaptable frameworks for a fast-paced environment, bringing a strong operational mindset and technical know-how to keep projects aligned.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders to capture business needs and objectives, translating them into clear specifications
- Assess risks, impacts, and dependencies across functions, taking proactive action as needed
- Develop and propose scalable solutions that align with company and enterprise strategies
- Analyse and document current and future state processes; identify gaps and recommend operational improvements
- Design and validate customer journeys, processes, and data flows with a focus on business outcomes
- Partner with technical and operational teams on change management and implementation plans
- Document system interfaces, data integrations, and ensure requirements traceability
- Contribute to business cases, including impact assessments and cost/benefit analyses
- Support project delivery by helping manage timelines, scope, and governance
- Create and maintain clear project artefacts and documentation
- Lead workshops and facilitate cross-functional stakeholder alignment
- Mentor junior analysts and help drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Define and execute test plans, oversee UAT, and help ensure requirements are met pre-deployment
- Ensure solutions comply with relevant financial services regulations and support audit and compliance activities
Requirements
- Experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Analyst, ideally in operational or financial services environments
- Proven record of driving analysis for complex projects in fast-paced settings
- Ability to work across teams and functions
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking—translating business needs into solutions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills
- Advanced process documentation and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with independence and the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Experience leading workshops and facilitating group alignment
- Skills in project management, relationship building, and active listening
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without direct authority
