About the Role
Longhorn Village is seeking a Skilled Nursing LVN with a strong positive attitude toward customer service and a genuine interest in geriatric care. This role involves motivating staff and residents while maintaining relationships and striving for excellence in care.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24-hour operation.
- Delegates and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants.
- Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures.
- Obtains specimens as needed.
- Completes documentation as required.
- Assists in the daily operation of the nursing department.
- Maintains the highest degree of quality resident care at all times.
Requirements
- Licensed Vocational Nurse with a current State of Texas license.
- Ability to read regulations and write clearly.
- Ability to communicate in a courteous, friendly manner.
- Ability to evaluate and make decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to function independently.
- Flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, governmental agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must report for duty at the scheduled time.
- Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.
