About the Role
W Sydney is seeking charismatic and guest-centric individuals for the Duty Manager role within the Front Desk Team. This role supports the Executive Assistant Manager of Rooms, focusing on high-level guest service, balancing guest, talent, and operational needs, and creating a memorable atmosphere with a deep local understanding of the guest journey.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day duties with passion and charisma, demonstrating outstanding communication skills.
- Drive W’s Whatever Whenever Culture and Bonvoy Loyalty program.
- Assist Welcome and Whatever Whenever Managers with all aspects of Rooms Division operations, including business decisions and adhering to W brand guidelines.
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations of all hotel areas in the absence of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Maintain high standards of service at Welcome Desk, Whatever Whenever, Wheels, and Concierge to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of guest services procedures, financial procedures, and payment processes.
- Establish challenging, realistic, and obtainable goals to guide operations and performance.
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Front Desk/Front Office role, ideally in a supervisory or Duty Manager position, within a luxury hotel.
- Knowledge of procedures and policies for check-in/check-out, pre-arrival planning, property-based systems (Opera), and room inventory management.
- Attention to detail and excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Ability to work on weekends/public holidays based on operational/business requirements.
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office suite, etc.).
