About the Role
The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all guests, employees, and visitors, protecting hotel assets and enforcing security policies in compliance with corporate guidelines and regulations. This role also involves fire prevention, safety, and resolving security-related complaints.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients.
- Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service.
- Perform hotel security functions, including fire prevention and safety checks.
- Investigate thefts, accidents, and other incidents.
- Prevent losses of company and guest property.
- Ensure a safe and tranquil environment for guests and employees.
- Assist guests and colleagues with security and safety inquiries.
- Resolve guest and employee complaints regarding safety and security.
- Conduct floor patrols, checking doors, windows, and securing facilities.
- Monitor activities to detect and counter thefts and criminal activities.
- Complete forms and reports related to accidents or issues.
- Immediately report hotel deficiencies for repair.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Ability to adhere to grooming standards.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously, and run as warranted.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all conditions.
- Ability to understand and execute safety and emergency procedures.
- Ability to understand and operate emergency equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and store approximately 50 lbs overhead.
- Ability to lift and move an immobilized adult in an emergency.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, and reach.
- Ability to push and/or pull approximately 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to utilize communication equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to interact courteously, empathetically, and discreetly.
- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Ability to sustain direct contact with the public, establishing high customer service standards.
- Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
