About the Role
The Senior Underwriter is a key member of the underwriting team, reporting to the Regional Underwriting Manager. This position focuses on profitably growing a book of business by partnering with Agents and collaborating with colleagues. Responsibilities include planning and budgeting for the book of business, developing and maintaining agency relationships, and executing underwriting decisions.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.
- Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.
- Overseeing new and renewal underwriting, selecting risks per company guidelines, and ensuring timely follow-up and closing of accounts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience underwriting, preferably in the high net worth space.
- Comfortable owning a book of business.
- Ability to communicate directly and empathetically.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to make risk decisions.
