About the Role
This is a hands-on technical marketing role with strategic oversight, responsible for the day-to-day management, optimization, and performance of the digital marketing ecosystem. The role involves turning data into actionable insights, developing customer journeys, maintaining marketing technology platforms, and enabling data-led marketing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize digital channels, including website, email communications, and marketing automation platforms.
- Lead website development, focusing on continuous improvement of UX and conversion rates.
- Plan, build, and execute email marketing campaigns and automated nurture journeys.
- Develop and maintain audience segmentation strategies for improved targeting and engagement.
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of social channels, guiding the Social Media & Digital Lead.
- Ensure effective integration and alignment of digital channels with campaign and business objectives.
- Oversee the integrated content and channel calendar, coordinating content distribution.
- Own and manage the marketing tech stack, including HubSpot, GA4, and associated platforms.
- Manage the HubSpot-Dynamics integration, including troubleshooting, field mapping, and process improvements.
- Maintain CRM structures, customer records, and data governance processes.
- Develop and optimize marketing automation workflows and customer journeys.
- Manage audience creation, segmentation, and data preparation for campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and automation for increased efficiency.
- Collaborate with Digital Workplace colleagues to deliver Power BI and Dynamics dashboards for performance tracking.
- Scope, recommend, and utilize MarTech products to optimize marketing and communications.
- Work closely with Senior Marketing Managers to ensure accurate, timely, and within-budget campaign execution.
- Manage audience insights and personas, using data to inform targeted marketing plans.
- Build a strong understanding of CPC audiences and support an audience-first approach across the organization.
- Analyze campaign, channel, and audience performance to identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop dashboards and reports providing actionable insights for various stakeholders.
- Track and report on marketing KPIs, including website performance, audience growth, campaign effectiveness, and more.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture through data, experimentation, and performance measurement.
- Provide advice and support to colleagues to improve campaign effectiveness and marketing outcomes.
- Support the successful delivery of integrated marketing campaigns by working closely with Marketing Managers.
- Design and implement customer journeys and lead capture processes to support campaign objectives.
- Ensure campaigns are correctly configured, tracked, reported, and optimized.
- Support lead management processes and marketing attribution reporting.
- Contribute audience, data, and performance insights throughout campaign planning and delivery.
- Support the Events team with event registration platforms, automated email flows, and reporting.
- Manage event-related integrations between marketing and CRM systems.
- Process and maintain attendee data collected through third-party events and partner activities.
- Support the sourcing and delivery of technology solutions for major events.
- Manage external suppliers and agencies for event-related digital platforms and websites.
- Ensure customer and marketing data is managed in accordance with GDPR and organizational policies.
- Work closely with Compliance and Digital Workplace colleagues to maintain appropriate data governance standards.
- Champion data quality, consistency, and good data management practices across the organization.
- Develop guidance, processes, and resources to improve data hygiene and user adoption.
- Work closely with Cyber Security colleagues to maintain appropriate Cyber Security standards.
- Manage operational budgets for digital platforms, software subscriptions, and website development.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure value for money across suppliers and technology investments.
- Line manage the Social Media & Digital Lead.
- Provide coaching, support, and professional development to direct reports.
- Set objectives, manage performance, and support the delivery of team priorities.
- Foster collaboration between digital, campaign, and communications activities within the team.
Requirements
- Significant experience in digital marketing, marketing operations, or marketing technology roles.
- Hands-on experience managing websites, email marketing, and marketing automation platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of HubSpot, Dynamics, or equivalent CRM and marketing automation systems.
- Experience managing customer data, audience segmentation, and CRM governance.
- Experience developing and optimizing automated customer journeys and nurture campaigns.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including experience with GA4, Power BI, and dashboard development.
- Experience translating data into actionable recommendations and business insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience managing complex projects (e.g., website builds) and campaigns.
- Experience delivering within a cross-functional team.
- Strategic thinking and ability to map out processes and align marketing initiatives with overall company goals.
- Demonstrable track record of managing data input into a CRM and ensuring data quality.
- Knowledge of building reports and dashboards that help drive business decisions.
- Proven track record of coaching B2B marketing teams to make better data-driven decisions.
- Experience in a B2B, innovation, professional services, or public sector environment (desirable).
- Experience with account-based marketing approaches (desirable).
- Experience managing website development projects and external agencies (desirable).
- Experience supporting event technology platforms and registration systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of SEO, paid media, and digital acquisition channels (desirable).
- Experience using AI tools to improve marketing productivity and effectiveness (desirable).

- This role is intended to strengthen the team’s technical marketing capability: systems ownership, data quality, segmentation, reporting, automation and digital performance.
- It should complement campaign marketing roles rather than duplicate them, acting as the technical/data lead enabling better campaign execution and insight.
