About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects to join our Sydney team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, manage workload effectively, and engage in client-facing meetings. Responsibilities
- Support the design, planning, and delivery of HVAC systems for healthcare, commercial, data centres, retail, defence, industrial, and educational building projects.
- Demonstrate technical engineering knowledge in heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation.
- Support Project Technical Leaders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standard.
- Conduct site inspections, monitor installations, and oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Assist in HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standards.
- Contribute to tender submissions and project reporting.
- Bring value to in-house design/project meetings.
- Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics, and quality procedures.
Requirements
- Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent.
- Ideally have 3-5+ years of previous HVAC design engineering experience in Consulting within the Building services industry.
- Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, or other similar industry software.
- Willingness to establish and maintain client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
