About the Role
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join their Sydney team. This 12-week paid internship offers real project experience, exposure to iconic projects, and the opportunity to work alongside technical experts. Successful interns may be considered for future graduate opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support projects across different stages of the project lifecycle, from concept design through to construction and operation.
- Assist with engineering design, project coordination, technical documentation and site activities under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Contribute to developing innovative and sustainable solutions to real-world engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help deliver major roadway and transport infrastructure projects.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits and learning opportunities to build technical knowledge and professional skills.
- Gain hands-on experience while working alongside industry experts on projects that help shape communities.
Requirements
- Must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering with a strong interest in transport and roads.
- Able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027.
- Must have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand.
- Accepts candidates with student and graduate visas.

- Attend a face-to-face interview.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
