About the Role

The Kamehameha Schools' Endowment is seeking an aspiring investor to join their Investment Management Group (IMG) in either Honolulu or San Francisco. This three-year program offers exposure to various asset classes and portfolio construction decisions, aiming to develop a well-rounded, generalist investor. Exceptional candidates may be promoted to Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support on a diversified global portfolio of marketable and private equities, fixed income, real assets, and absolute return strategies.
  • Conduct research, perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, and build financial models.
  • Capture information from external managers and markets.
  • Contribute to internal dialogue on investment decision-making.
  • Generate reports on portfolio and investment manager performance.
  • Conduct and deliver timely and accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Deliver periodic and ad-hoc reports to investment leadership.
  • Manage individual work across multiple asset classes and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in external manager and reference meetings and calls to capture accurate and insightful notes.
  • Contribute questions and insight in external manager and internal investment team meetings.
  • Form high quality external industry relationships.
  • Assist in training of new members to the analyst team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services, consulting, or related professional setting.
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, in a team and across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated interest in investing.
  • Frequently sits, performs desk-based computer tasks and grasps light or fine manipulation, talks or hears.
  • Occasionally stands and/or walks, writes by hand, and lifts and/or carries, pushes and/or pulls objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twists, bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs, reaches or works above shoulder, or grasps forcefully.
  • Involves heavy traveling to various locations, including international travel.
  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but may be conducted in evenings and weekends, as necessary.
