About the Role
Join our Building Engineering team to collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams on sustainable, high-performing projects across Defence, Aviation, Commercial, Healthcare, and Transport sectors. You will contribute to the design of resilient electrical infrastructure, including low voltage power systems, utilities, standby generation, UPS, lighting, fire alarms, and security. The role offers opportunities to support the design of hyperscale and enterprise data centres, focusing on high-reliability electrical infrastructure and mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
- Support the design of electrical and lighting systems adhering to relevant standards across various market sectors, including mission-critical and data centre facilities.
- Assist with tasks such as lighting calculations, load assessments, circuit protection design, and curve coordination.
- Gain exposure to data centre load modelling, diversity factors, and IT load / PUE assumptions.
- Help develop single line diagrams, layout drawings, and other documentation for the design process.
- Assist in creating high-level electrical architectures for data centres, from grid connection to distribution at the data hall level.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, including Architecture and Structural Engineering, to support integrated solutions.
- Contribute to the coordinated design of data halls, plant areas, and utility corridors within campus-scale developments.
- Support the development of design basis assumptions for critical systems, including redundancy strategies, standby generation, UPS configurations, and resilient power distribution.
Requirements
- Must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Able to work full-time hours from mid-November 2026 to mid-February 2027.
- Must hold Australian citizenship.
- Must be eligible to obtain the required Defence Security Clearance for this role.
