About the Role
The Commercial Analyst is responsible for delivering strategic and commercial analysis to support informed decision-making and contribute to BAI Australia’s growth strategy. This role will support high-value projects, ensuring alignment with shareholder and customer value delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial support for large value growth initiatives, sales tenders, and proposals.
- Build pricing models to evaluate opportunities and assess potential commercial approaches.
- Conduct scenario modeling to evaluate risk, sensitivities, and upsides for various outcomes.
- Utilize research and insights to test hypotheses and perform commercial evaluations of strategic options.
- Analyze key strategic issues and outcomes to support or challenge the business's strategic direction.
- Research use cases, technology applications, value drivers, and capabilities to develop products, solutions, and compelling customer value propositions.
- Support the Chief Commercial Officer, Director of Telco, and Director of Broadcast in achieving strategic growth within BAI Australia.
- Review new and emerging opportunities to assess strategic fit, commercial attractiveness, and capability for BAI Australia.
- Support the development of financial plans, annual plans, and long-term plans.
- Produce clear and concise presentations for audiences including the BAI Board and BAI Australia leadership team.
- Support legal contract drafting for commercial considerations in new contracts and evaluate commercial elements of existing contracts.
Requirements
- Experienced commercial analyst with a history of working in a bid environment.
- Proficiency in modeling commercial information, including risk, to support decision-making.
- Strong communication skills to present information that may challenge pre-determined assumptions to Executive, Board, and C-level stakeholders.
- Ability to offer clear and compelling commercial information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives.
- Demonstrated strong financial and commercial acumen and commercial experience.
- Competence in creating three-way commercial models and appraisals of strategic opportunities.
- Ability to demonstrate the application of critical thinking to complex business problems.
