About the Role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and preparing high-quality, plant-based dishes that align with our commitment to sustainability and cultural celebration. You will work closely with our team to design innovative menus, manage kitchen operations, and ensure a memorable dining experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
- Preparing for service, which includes ensuring the kitchen is well stocked with the necessary ingredients, as well as cleaning, cutting, and marinating food.
- Create prep lists for the kitchen crew.
- Enforcing safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh ensuring that dishes meet high standards at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Keeping up to date with industry trends.
- Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
Requirements
- Culinary school degree/diploma or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and practices.
- Ongoing awareness of culinary trends.
- Expert multitasking ability.
- Ability to run stocktaking and place orders for resupply.
- Exemplary work ethic in a high-pressure environment.
- Portfolio of creative, unique dishes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion and pride for delighting people with food.
