About the Role
This role involves providing customers with quotes and specifications for garage door installations, interacting with them daily to offer recommendations, and closing sales according to company standards. The ideal candidate possesses excellent numerical skills, an analytical mindset, and strong relationship management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Show, promote, and sell products or services using sales strategies, product demonstrations, and sales techniques.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding residential garage doors, openers, and equipment during the sales process.
- Provide accurate quotes, follow up with customers, and close sales by obtaining customer commitment.
- Ensure appropriate equipment orders are placed after the sale is closed.
- Measure installation areas and accurately record all required materials and labor.
- Provide proper paperwork, including quotes and specification sheets, and ensure orders are completed in a timely manner.
- Follow up with customers to ensure work completion to their satisfaction and resolve any issues.
- Interact with customer's insurance representatives to obtain information and provide required documentation.
- Promote the company and develop new business lines with contractors, associations, and realtors.
- Stay informed about new products and understand their features and benefits compared to competitors.
- Assist door installers if problems or concerns arise during installation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for installing garage doors, openers, and related components.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and estimate needed materials.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service by assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Ability to identify mechanical problems, review related information, develop options, and implement solutions.
- Ability to identify specific brands of doors, openers, keyless entry systems, and related components.
- Ability to close sales deals.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work for timely completion.
