About the Role

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is seeking Hospitalist Physicians for full-time and part-time opportunities. This role involves providing medical care to patients outside the ICU in a 280-bed tertiary care institution, the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia. There are opportunities for research and medical teaching with Dalhousie University.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to patients outside the ICU.
  • Participate in on-call coverage (typically 1 call per week).
  • Engage in research and/or medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University (optional).

Requirements

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

Salary/Compensations

  • Daily rate as per the provincial hospitalist agreement with a stipend plus fee-for-service billings for on-call work.
  • As of April 1, 2026, the daily rate was $1576.47/day.
  • Estimated Annual Salary: 350,000 - 375,000 CAD
