About the Role

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is seeking two full-time pathologists with experience in both surgical biopsy and autopsy services. There is opportunity for a successful applicant to be the department head or associate/deputy head depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work a full scope of practice as a pathologist.
  • Perform autopsies and the interpretation of surgical biopsies.
  • Assess pathology and cytopathology specimens.
  • Perform interpretation of peripheral blood smears or be willing to train in this.

Requirements

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).

  • 550,000 - 575,000 CAD
