About the Role

The Department of Psychiatry at Cape Breton Regional Hospital is seeking psychiatrists to provide care to the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team providing high-quality care to adults and seniors, with opportunities to support community outreach and teaching programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide on call coverage to inpatient mental health units and emergency departments
• Provide in-house consultations
• Support community outreach teams
• Provide a full scope of care to adults, and seniors
• Support clozapine and depot clinics
• Offer consultations for adults with neurodevelopment disorders
• Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
• Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
• Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities

Requirements

• All specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada(RCPSC)
• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or proof of alternative coverage
