About the Role

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a full-time Neonatologist for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. This role involves providing comprehensive neonatal clinical care, attending deliveries, and offering in-house daytime coverage. The successful candidate will also supervise and teach residents and medical students, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Attend deliveries and provide care for patients of any gestational age who require NICU services.
  • Provide in-house daytime coverage Monday to Friday for all neonatal services across the NICU, LDR/OR, Mother–Baby Unit, and the perinatal clinic.
  • Supervise and teach residents and medical students.
  • Provide care and coordination of community-based care, and secondary and tertiary level health care.
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.

Requirements

  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or proof of alternative coverage.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

Salary/Compensations

  • 325,000 - 350,000 CAD
